The Circuit Courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction. The Circuit Court hears all civil matters with amounts exceeding $10,000.00, criminal prosecutions involving felony offenses and family court matters. This Courts power is concurrent with that in the District Court when the controversial amount exceeds $3,000.00 but not $10,000.00. This Court exercises appelatte jurisdiction over cases that have been appealed from District Court, Probate Court, Baldwin County Municipal Court and other administrative and municipal boards.
