Mobile County District Court is located on the 4th floor of the Mobile County Courthouse and has jurisdiction over criminal misdemeanors, holds preliminary hearings in felony prosecutions and has the power to receive guilty pleas in felony cases not punishable by death. The District Court Judges exercise concurrent jurisdiction with the Circuit Court in juvenile matters and civil actions with controversial amounts less than $10,000.00 and the District Court has sole jurisdiction over all civil actions where the controversial amount does not exceed $3,000.00.
